Links	About the Arkansas Wildlife Federation The Arkansas Wildlife Federation was founded by a group of sportsmen in 1936 to represent citizens who cared about the wildlife, waters, and wild lands of Arkansas. The Federation's goal was to become a leader in educating people about conservation issues and in encouraging the wise stewardship of our natural resources. The Arkansas Wildlife Federation seeks to represent a wide variety of Arkansas' outdoor enthusiasts: hunters, anglers, sportsmen, hikers, campers and anyone who appreciates Arkansas' natural resources. The Federation strives to carry out our mission fairly and responsibly. The staff and volunteers have excellent working relationships with many of the agencies and industries we work with. Our membership represents a wide spectrum of Arkansas' population, from farmers, foresters, and physicians to teachers, scientists, construction workers and retirees. The Arkansas Wildlife Federation is a private, nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization that depends on the generous support that our state's citizens provide. All funds raised by the Federation stay in Arkansas. A "state" membership can be purchased for as little as $25. For information, please see the Membership page for details and benefits. We also have several autonomous affiliate organizations throughout the state. Some of these groups were formed to work on specific projects in their local areas, such as the Yell County Wildlife Federation. Other groups that affiliate with the AWF are groups that already exist, but want to provide more support on issues affecting the entire state. An example of this type of affiliation is the Wattensaw Bowhunters Association. For information on affiliation, please see the Membership page for details. The Arkansas Wildlife Federation is the state affiliate of the National Wildlife Federation, one of the largest conservation groups in the world.
