AWF Received a phone call on Thursday afternoon, July 3, 2014 notifying us that someone is making phone calls claiming to be a Wildlife Federation raising money for children for Christmas. The caller ID was a Verizon mobile number: 501-697-5787 out of the Conway, Ark. area, but the scammers could be calling from other numbers as well, so please be aware.
AWF Does Not make phone calls of any sort to raise funds. AWF sends out material via mail or speaks with people face-to-face at events. AWF does not even send e-mails requesting funds unless someone specifically requests information from the organization.
If you receive a similar call please contact AWF with the time, date, and the number the scammer called from so we can turn the information over to the attorney general. Please do not give them any of your personal information.
AWF has just completed the 2nd annual Wounded Warrior Project fishing tournament located at Lake Dardanelle State Park in Russellville. Thanks to all who volunteered their time and those who helped support this worthwhile project of giving back to our men and women who gave so much for our country. I would also like to mention it was a BIG success, and AWF will try to sponsor it again next year.
I would like to tell you a couple of personal stories about this year’s event. One of the best parts of being involved is to hear special stories and how this event has affected individual’s lives.
(signed) Agalia Baker!
Thank you Agalia for your support to this worthy cause, and we wish you the very best in your fight with cancer.
You see I feel very special to get to hear and see how we have made a difference in these people’s lives. This is one on the main reasons I volunteer my time and give back so much, we can all make a difference and touch others’ lives in a positive way. Thanks to all of our veterans and those who are serving today and have given so much to our great country and our freedoms we all enjoy in America.
