Arkansas Resources

The Upland Oak Ecology Symposium, held in October 2002, will explore the history, ecology and status of upland oak forests.

The Arkansas Wildlife Federation is the state affiliate of the National Wildlife Federation.

The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission manages the state's fish and wildlife resources.

The Arkansas Forestry Commission manages the state's forest resources.

The Arkansas State Parks website has information about the state's 51 parks.

The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality is the state agency in charge of environmental issues.

The Buffalo River has an official Park Service website and an informative unofficial website.

The U. S. Forest Service maintains the Ozark and St. Francis National Forests and the Ouachita National Forest

National Resources

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service "is the principal Federal agency for conserving, protecting, and enhancing fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats."

The EPA's Index of Watershed Indicators provides environmental information about Arkansas' various watersheds.

Water Resources in Arkansas is the U.S. Geological Survey's site for hydrologic information on Arkansas' water resources.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' work in Arkansas watersheds is managed through three district offices: the Little Rock District Office, the Memphis District Office and the Vicksburg District Office.
