Joining the Arkansas Wildlife Federation assures that your voice will be heard and that your interests will be protected when and where it counts! Over the years, the AWF has worked with other agencies and organizations to achieve many conservation victories. Here's a few of our accomplishments:

  • Sponsored Amendment 35 in 1944 which created the modern day Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.

  • Helped develop and pass the One-eighth of One Percent Conservation Sales Tax Amendment.

  • Successfully stopped the Corps of Engineers plan to channelize the Cache River.

  • Joined with other groups to stop plans to dam the Buffalo River in the 1960s, and supported its present status as a National River.

  • Convinced the U.S. Forest Service to limit clear-cutting in the Ozarks and Ouachitas.

  • In the 1980s, supported the addition of 100,000 acres of wilderness in the Ozark and Ouachita National Forest.

  • Opposed a plan to allow large-scale military training in the Ozark and Oauchita National Forests.

  • The AWF is consistently a leader when it comes to protecting Arkansas' natural resources!

  • Ongoing programs in conservation education.

  • Publication of Arkansas Fish & Wildlife six times a year.

None of this is possible without your help. A basic membership costs $25 per year and includes a subscription to Arkansas Fish & Wildlife, in addition to supporting the conservation and education programs of the AWF. Many members purchase a membership for $50 or more. Follow this link for a membership form.

Affiliates
AWF has several autonomous affiliate organizations throughout the state. Some of these groups were formed to work on specific projects in their local areas, such as the Yell County Wildlife Federation. Other groups that affiliate with the AWF are groups that already exist, but want to provide more support on issues affecting the entire state. An example of this type of affiliation is the Wattensaw Bowhunters Association.

Any organization with at least 10 members may apply for affiliation. The affiliation fee is $5 per member per year. Each affiliate member will receive Arkansas Fish & Wildlife, and the affiliate organization can publish its news in Arkansas Fish & Wildlife at no charge. All affiliate applications are subject to approval by the AWF Board of Directors. For more information on affiliation, contact the AWF office.
